Breakfast in Philadelphia

it’s a matter of simple physics
like how starbucks in august history towns
questions broke weeks of blue shirted
men with godfather hats and cigarettes
plume the already smog and forgotten
keys on mocking workstations lead to
our escape plans with b’s of subtly
that spill mercury during tropical storm season
and then you wake up that guy
with the joke about the light bulb
anticipating lobster rolls on monday
here with oatmeal cup on unrecognized street
reminiscing the flat irons under skyscrapers
for once knowing here where we are is not so bad
